Favorite Friday...Hanky Duvet!

I found a gem of a duvet cover while out and about a few months ago. I stashed it away for when the bedroom is completed, but today I couldn't resist getting it out for show. That, and the sweet In-Laws are making a visit tomorrow. Gotta get all spiffed-up around this cottage!

In doing some research, I have found people have blogged about this particular duvet...how they can't find it, they want it, where to get one....


I think we can all agree that it matches the blue wall paint color like a charm! And, that it does not match the curtains. The floors are not put in yet (they will be a white-washed Pergo), so excuse my bedroom photos. The bedrooms in this cottage, are, ahem....TINY! Our "master" measures approx. 9.5'x 9.5'. It is near impossible to get a full-room shot with the camera. The next photo was taken from the doorway. I know, I know: A huge bed in a tiny room. In my defense, it is only a QUEEN and Mr. Vaughan likes his space while sleeping. You do what you gotta do.


So....I will sit on it for a while longer. Debating. Sell, or keep? I am thinking the print overwhelms the space? But it matches the walls..... =)...Maybe if I nix the curtains and put up some light and airy white ones it will look better....

    I love it! It is a lot of color and pattern, but if you keep everything else simple with only another color or two (white and blue is what I think) and use textures with the white so it's not boring, it will be sweet and nostalgic. Or.....maybe some of the colors from the duvet in accent pillows - maybe out of chenille? Well, no matter what you do, it is a terrific find!

    OHHH...chenille pillows...in maybe yellow? I like this idea!
